My Story

Hi, I’m Jenna Heath, and I’m passionate about leadership, education, and helping others identify their definition of success. My journey has taken me through a variety of careers, from startups and fitness to non-profits and food & beverage, before finding my true calling in higher education over a

decade ago.

In my career, I’ve worked at large, urban public university systems, serving in roles like Recruiter, Assistant Director of Career and Professional Development, and Director of Student & Community Engagement. I’m deeply committed to training the next generation of leaders and have taught courses on leadership development and career readiness at institutions such as University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada State University, and the University of Denver since 2015.

My expertise spans both traditional college-aged students and non-traditional adult learners.

In 2024, I launched my podcast, Tearin’ Up My Heart: Emotional Leadership Lessons, where I explore the emotional side of leadership and make educational content accessible to anyone, regardless of financial constraints.

I hold a Master’s in Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Bachelor’s in Communication and Political Science from San Diego State University. I’m currently pursuing my PhD in Educational Policy, Organizational Leadership and Higher Education, with my research focusing on the intersectionality of emotional regulation and leadership efficacy.

I hold certifications as a Global Career Development Facilitator and Career Coach, and have been trained in Life Design Studio methodology from Stanford University. In addition, I am completing

ICF Certification in Executive Leadership Coaching. My dedication to career development and leadership is reflected in my research, presentations, and publications, with my most recent manuscript, “Educating the Educators: Preparing Faculty to Teach Career Readiness”.

Beyond my professional work, I volunteer with incredible organizations like Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Nevada. I have extensive public speaking experience both nationally and internationally and enjoy connecting with others to help them succeed. Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and fur babies, staying active, and reading a

good book in the sunshine.

Thank you for visiting my site, and I look forward to connecting with you!
